The plenary session of the Cartagena Chamber of Commerce, the highest executive body of the organisation, held its last meeting in 2018 at the Hidrogea facilities.
The plenary session of the Cartagena Chamber of Commerce, the highest executive body of the organisation, held its last meeting in 2018 at the Hidrogea facilities.
The meeting was chaired by Miguel Martínez Bernal, president of the Chamber of Commerce, accompanied by Inmaculada Serrano, CEO of Hidrogea, and was attended by the 36 members of the Chamber responsible for agreements and decision-making.
At the closing meeting for 2018 the accounts were presented for the last quarter, a report was given on the move of the headquarters and the outlook for the Chamber of Commerce for the following year was discussed.
As the meeting was held at Hidrogea headquarters, attendees were also given a tour of the procedures and technology used to ensure management of both the supply and wastewater treatment are as efficient as possible. Thus members of the Chamber Plenary Session learned about how the remote control system worked, the numerous health controls that water undergoes and the important environmental work that the company carries out in Cartagena.
Finally, the Chamber of Commerce acknowledged Hidrogea’s firm commitment to sustainable development by presenting an award for its current project in the lagoons at the Cabezo Beaza wastewater treatment plant, in conjunction with the ANSE ecologists' association, which has resulted in breeding of the white-headed duck, a species in danger of extinction.
