Treatment

Five wastewater treatment plants available

Innovative solutions with minimum environmental impact

Wastewater treatment is based on eliminating all residues that have accumulated in the water in its path through the urban water cycle and returning it to the environment in optimum conditions, to protect aquatic ecosystems, avoid risks to public health, and obtain water that is suitable for reuse. This ensures the future of coming generations and the environment and achieves sustainable development.

At Hidrogea, we have gone one step further. Once we had achieved the greatest efficiency in this linear model of wastewater treatment, we shifted our focus to a model based on the circular economy, that of biofactories. Thus, we aim to move from energy consumers to energy producers, to reach the highest degree of energy efficiency, recover 100% of the waste that is generated and reuse 100% of the treated water.

At Hidrogea, urban wastewater is treated in a network of five wastewater treatment plants (WWTP) in Cartagena and Águilas.
